On Tuesday night the AGM was held where some time was taken to reflect on the achievements of the club in the past twelve months. These achievements could not have been possible without the contributions of all our volunteers, including coaches, captains, umpires, managers and the committee themselves.
One of the key indicators of our successes was the growth of our membership base – from 141 playing members in the Winter 2012 season to around 215 in 2013 – This is a 53% increase. But best of all, we have seen such an engaged group of members who want to contribute – which is the essence of a club.
The committee especially thanked our outgoing selector and club stalwart – Len Davis – for all his work on the Kedron Lions committees since establishment in 1988. Len is taking a well earned break from committee duties but you will still see him around the courts in a coaching capacity.
We also thank outgoing Coaching Convenor – Liz Holt – for her assistance in sourcing and supporting coaches over the past few years. You will also see Liz still around in a coaching capacity. Adam Disney has taken on the Coaching Director role.
Much of the committee were re-elected unchanged to office on Tuesday night, though we welcome four fresh faces in a bunch of existing and new roles on the committee:
Registrar/Grants Officer – Deb Turner
Club Selectors/Grader – Shavaun Dolan
Events Co-ordinator – Deb Disney
Managers’ Manager – Marcy Guerreri
We hope that all our members enjoy the 2013-14 year and remember to support those who support us.
